Rapid Roofing Helps Disabled Vet During The Holidays
When a local family-owned roofing business found out a disabled veteran was scammed out of thousands of dollars by another contractor, Rapid Roofing jumped into action.
A chance meeting in a driveway in Dexter is giving a disabled veteran a renewed sense of hope this holiday season. Upon learning that John Hammer, a disabled veteran was scammed out of nearly $7,000 by Harleys Construction (Flat Rock), the team at Rapid Roofing started formulating a solution to make sure this family has a new roof over their head in time for the holidays.
“It’s about doing the right thing,” says Paul Kirkwood, general manager at Rapid Roofing. “We believe there is no place in the construction industry for contractors that take people’s hard-earned money and then vanish into thin air.” Upon learning about this family’s tribulation, Kirkwood reached out to Rapid’s manufacturing and distribution partners, GAF and Beacon Building Supply. “I asked if they would help us cover the cost of materials for this project and if we would supply the labor. The immediate answer was, “Consider it done.”
Rapid Roofing’s business has operated in Metro Detroit for over 25 years. They are Michigan’s only GAF Master Elite and President’s Club 3-star residential roofing contractor.
Rapid Roofing plans on installing the new roof, free of charge, for the Hammer family on Monday, December 12 weather permitting.
